Karl and Kanye set to collaborate

World-renowned Chief Designer of Chanel Karl Lagerfield is set to collaborate with rapper Kanye West after being spotted in New York at a business lunch meeting. Although there has been no official word from Chanel, the pair were seen dining together at the Mercer Hotel reportedly discussing plans to release a clothing line together. ”They were in a deep conversation, then later appeared to be getting devices out to discuss design ideas,” a source revealed to the New York Post.

West has recently shown an interest in Chanel design, attending their Spring/Summer 2013 show at Paris Fashion Week as well as being photographed at the Little Black Jacket exhibition which pays homage to Coco Chanel‘s creation, opened in London earlier this month. Kanye pulled out of premiering his SS13 shoe collection at Paris Fashion Week allegedly due to distractions caused by his relationship with Kim Kardashian.

The rapper turned designer collaborated with Nike to release his own shoe, Air Yeezys as well as teaming up with Louis Vuitton to release a shoe range, both in 2009. West premiered his debut fashion line at Paris Fashion Week in 2011 to receive mixed-to-negative reviews.
