New Alexander McQueen menswear store unveiled

Alexander McQueen have opened their first store on Savile Row in Mayfair, a location renowned for it’s traditional men’s tailoring. The brand’s newly found focus on menswear is illustrated through the opening of the boutique.
Creative Director of Alexander McQueen Sarah Burton commented on the store saying: “Lee really wanted a shop on Savile Row. It was really important to him. That’s why it’s so special having the shop; that’s why we’ve got a picture of Lee here, which is one of my favourites.” The founder and often controversial creative director of the brand Lee Alexander McQueen committed suicide in 2010 after his mother passed away, who was then succeeded by Burton.
The boutique’s interior design is more traditional than typical Alexander McQueen stores, containing ornate wall plastering and a large glass cube which will contain artworks which aspire Burton. The Savile Row store offers the largest menswear collection in the world, with plans to open a personal tailoring service in-store next year.
Alexander McQueen currently has 20 stores around the world, in places such as Dubai, Tokyo, New York, London and Milan.
