Avril Lavigne’s new album expected “very soon”

[DS]: X Factor USA judge LA Reid – who is the chairman of Epic Records – has told fans that he wants to get the album out before the end of the year.

“We’re in the mixing process now and I expect to release it very soon,” Reid told Billboard. “I’d like to get it out this year, but time seems to be flying. If we don’t, it will be top of the new year.”

The music mogul also confirmed that Lavigne has teamed up with her new fiancé Chad Kroeger, of Nickelback fame, for a song.

“She worked with Chad Kroeger, who is now her fiancé, and they did a really good record,” he said.

Lavigne’s fifth studio album serves as the follow-up to 2011′s Goodbye Lullaby, which reached number four on the US Billboard 200 chart and nine in the UK.
