Chris Martin tests new music on his children

[DS]: Coldplay’s Chris Martin has revealed that he tests the band’s new material on his children.

The singer confessed that he plays new songs around the breakfast table for 8-year-old Apple and 6-year-old Moses and monitors their reaction.

“Kids are very honest – if they start singing a song it’s because they like it. It’s a great gauge,” Martin told The Sun.

However, Martin admitted that his children also keep his feet on the ground and bring him back to reality after the band’s massive stadium shows.

“When we played Wembley Stadium I was like, ‘Wow, now we are big rock stars’, but next morning the kids were saying, ‘Get me some pancakes’.”

Martin recently joked that he was distracted by the Olympics after forgetting the lyrics to one of his songs during a gig in Boston.
