Man Gambles Away $1.5 million After ATM Error

By on June 19, 2012

[HH] Ronald Page of Detroit discovered the holy grail of ATM machines at a casino, which let him withdrawl $1.5 million in chips that he didn’t have money to cover. What did Ronald do with his new found fortune? Well, he gambled it away.

Ronald took advantage of Bank of America’s mistake of placing his account into a “Pay All” status, which allowed him to withdrawl unlimited overdrafts. From August 1-18 in 2009 Ronald withdrew an eye watering $1,543,104 from his account, which had an average balance of $100 dating from 2008-2009.

He pled guilty to theft of bank funds on March 7 and faces 15 months in prison.
